Hello fellow CS Teachers and Educational Supporters!
I'm thrilled to welcome you all to our community. For our new members, a warm welcome to CSTA Alaska! And for our long-standing members, you might have noticed our chapter's new name, transitioning from CSTA Top of the World to CSTA Alaska. We loved our original name, but we encountered a little glitch – it was hard to find us in the chapter list! True to our problem-solving spirit as computer scientists, we debugged this issue and renamed our chapter for easier discovery. Now, you can find us right under the "A's" – a logical fix indeed!
Our chapter's mission is multifaceted:
- Collaboration: We aim to be a collaborative hub where teachers can discuss, share, and support one another.
- Advocacy: Together, we strive to build a stronger voice for advocating computer science education in Alaska.
- Resources: CSTA Alaska is your go-to source for finding relevant programs, organizations, and curriculum materials for your schools and districts.
I'm excited to propose making our CSTA Alaska discussion board a central gathering spot. This platform, though currently underutilized, has immense potential to be one of our most valuable resources. Whether you're seeking support, sharing ideas, or have questions to ask – this is your space. Let's activate our community's collective wisdom and make this forum a lively and helpful resource.
Looking forward to seeing your contributions and vibrant discussions here!
Warm regards,
Brian Mead
