Yes! You Can Learn Practical Radio: Learn about and experiment with radio communications technology in this class entirely developed and taught by the MIT Radio Society – MIT's student ham radio club. In this class, you will build antennas and radios, talk on the air with ham radio operators around the world, find hidden transmitters, communicate with satellites in space, learn about radio hacking, be exposed to cutting-edge research in radioastronomy, and more! The class is taught in-person on MIT's campus by MIT students and faculty, with a field trip at the end to an off-site MIT research facility doing radio astronomy. No experience is required, only an interest in electronics, computers, radio, or communications.
Who: High School Students (9th and 10th grade) interested in Ham Radio Technology.
When: Saturday s 11am-3pm (EST) - March 9, 16, 23, 30, April 6, 13, 20, 27, 2024
