Great news -- Ardsley High School will be hosting another hackathon!  Save the date for Sunday, March 23rd, from 10 am to 5 pm. Like previous years, high schoolers, of any experience level, can participate. Students can form teams of 1-5 students to work on projects relating to coding. Students will also have an opportunity to present their projects to a panel of judges to win prizes in multiple categories.  We are in the process of getting sponsors to provide prize packages to winners of the competition. We are also arranging for workshops and mentors to help with the projects and enhance learning.  The event is free of charge and lunch, snacks, swag, and prizes will be provided.

I would like to ask for your help in making students of your school aware of this unique event. With the overwhelming success of the hackathon last year and anticipated interest this year, we encourage students to sign up as soon as possible on ardsleyhacks.org. We are also looking for judges and mentors to assist day of, and would appreciate if you could reach out to adults in your community for support.

If there are any questions about the event, please contact us directly at ardsleyhacks@gmail.com.

Applications to Barnard's STEAM in the City program, an exciting professional development opportunity for K–8 teachers/educators! Please share the news with any eligible teachers/educators in your network who may be interested.

The STEAM in the City program is a professional development fellowship that enables participants to bring experiential STEAM learning into their classrooms. The program is hosted by Barnard College's Office of Community Engagement and Inclusion and connects local teachers with resources and training from Barnard faculty and staff experts on experiential practices for educating students in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics (aka "STEAM"). Teachers participating in this program are equipped with ideas and resources to implement STEAM-related curriculum that focuses on parks and other local sites as environmental and design learning spaces. Participants are eligible for a stipend or CTLE credits for their participation.

The 2025–2026 cohort year will kick off with our Summer Institute from July 21- July 25 at Barnard College, and our application for the program is live. Our team is available at steam@barnard.edu to answer any questions. Deadline is March 31.
