The mission of CSTA Washington to provide community, professional development, support, and advocacy for computer science teachers throughout Washington state has never been more important.

Please join us to help lead the inaugural CSTA WA board through these tumultuous times and build a strong foundation for all CS teachers in our state.

This year we are holding elections for leadership positions across the board.

    • President (2-year term)

    • Secretary (2-year term)

    • Vice president Coastal/Peninsula (ESD 113 and 114) (2-year term)

    • Vice President Southern (ESDs 112, 105, 123) (2-year term)

    • Treasurer (1-year term)

    • Vice President I-5 Corridor (ESDs 189 and 121) (1-year term)

    • Vice President Eastern North  (ESD 171 and 101) (1-year term)

    • Member-at-Large Communications (1-year term)

    • Member-at-Large Membership (1-year term)

Notes: The terms vary in length for this election only as part of our transition to a statewide organization. Positions in the future will be 2-year terms.

Please take a moment and consider contributing to our organization in one of these elected positions. Please see the roles and the time commitments document to learn more about what is involved in each role.

You may nominate yourself or someone else you think would be a good candidate. Any nominated member may withdraw their name if they desire.  Once elected, board members are required by national by-laws to be a member of the national Computer Science Teachers Association as well as members of the CSTA Washington chapter. CSTA Washington will cover the modest annual fee for membership upon request. Nominees are encouraged to speak with existing officers if they have questions regarding roles, responsibilities and time commitment required.

Nominations may be submitted via Google form (https://forms.gle/WBhVu5wZcTJ8eGgi6).  Please include a brief paragraph (around 2-4 sentences) introducing yourself to the membership, so we can include it on the ballot.

After nominees have been determined, all members in current standing will be emailed a ballot. Only members of  CSTA Washington may vote during elections. Please take a moment and join and/or renew your membership - your participation is how we thrive!

Deadline for nominations: Saturday May 31, 2025

Ballot available: About June 2, 2025

Voting: Ballots due no later than midnight June 16, 2025

Please feel free to email the election committee at washington@csta-hq.org if you have any questions regarding the election.
