  • 1.  CTE Frameworks for Computer Science Progarms

    A teacher asked me if I knew where to get a CTE framework for a Computer Programming (110201) course.   Although their district did not have a CTE department before, since they decided to teach CS they are now in charge of CTE.   Does anyone have a CTE framework for a Computer Programming course?   Does a library of CS CTE frameworks for Washington exist

    is an updated template - has anyone recently finished their's in the most current template?  This one is more current than the one I inherited so it will get me closer.

    OSPI Computer Science Program Supervisor shared the following information:


    My colleague in CTE shared the following information regarding the framework request. The statewide equivalencies page on OSPI's website is probably the closest resource to what you've suggested.

    All the frameworks are classified under the same CIP code (110201), so I don't have a list of which is "Computer Programming" vs "AP Computer Science" vs something a district decides to create that is computer science.

     They might consider looking at the statewide equivalencies. In those, there are two and both are listed as "Computer Programming."

     1. 1st year and beyond Geometry or 3rd year Math (AP Computer Science)

    2. Science

    A question from another teacher:

    I was wondering in our resources if there was a current AP CSA CTE framework in the new template that I could get a copy of rather than re-creating it.  Do you know of anyone who has gone thru this process recently for AP CSA and also for AP CSP?
    I did just update the Code.org CSD if anyone wants to look at it.  Andthe state's Video Game Design equivalency if that helps anyone.

    Here is a copy of the AP CS A framework used by Seattle Public Schools in 2019.   I actually authored it after borrowing most of it from another teacher whose name I unfortunately do not remember.
