To: <SIGCSE-MEMBERS@listserv.acm.org>
Hi everyone,
We're launching AccessEd, a new professional development program (sponsored by a SIGCSE Special Projects grant) to help K–12 computing teachers introduce students to digital accessibility - designing software that works for people with disabilities.
Note: This program is about teaching students about accessible design, not about making your teaching more accessible.
Who Should Apply?
K–12 teachers who teach computing topics and want to include digital accessibility in their curriculum in the 2025–2026 school year.
What You Commit To:
If you're interested but the timing is tricky, apply anyway and let us know your availability.
What You Get: $500 stipend
Deadline: June 22, 2025
Questions? Contact Dr. Devorah Kletenik (Brooklyn College) at kletenik@sci.brooklyn.cuny.edu
This program is part of a research study titled "Supporting K–12 Teachers in Teaching About Accessibility," approved by the CUNY IRB (protocol 2025-0338-Brooklyn).
