Magda Balazinska, director for the Allen School is part of the WA AI Task Force. Their charge is to put together recommendations for the state legislature. Attached are their first recommendations related to education and workforce development. These came out of a long series of public meetings where it became clear that what we need most is to support educators and let them experiment and teach the correct and ethical use of AI to students. The attached recommendation captures that main focus.

They are trying to spread the word beyond people who have already been involved so far to see if anyone has any concerns with the attached. She personally doesn't think it's controversial and it is based on a lot of input already. She has asked that I share this with HS and Community college contacts. They need feedback by the end of the day on September 2nd, but the attached two-pager is a short read.

For context, this web page describes the task force: https://www.atg.wa.gov/aitaskforce
