While the focus of the webinar was to introduce the dashboards and reports in Washington CS and CTE Education Analytics 2025 and help educators understand the status of CS Education in their ESD, district, and school, an overview of the contents of these dashboards and reports yield several interesting factoids about CS education in Washington in 2023 - 24:

    • The CS Student Participation Rate in Washington dropped over 7% in 2023-24 (9.3% to 8.6%)
    • Native American/Eskimos (7.2%) were the only race/ethnicity to trail Whites (8.0%) in CS Student Participation
    • CS Student Participation Rate by ELL Students (9.0%) was slightly higher than non-ELL students (8.9%)
    • Washington does very well compared to national averages in relative CS student participation rates across race/ethnicity, income levels, English language learners, and students with disabilities. However, Washington trails the national average in relative CS student participation rates based on gender. Washington girls (5.8%) enroll in CS at less than half the rate of Washington boys (11.8%)
