A question from @Michelle Laskowski on the CS for All Washington Slack channel (let me know if you want an invite):
Does anyone know if our CSTA conference participation/certificate will count towards OSPI's clock hours? And if so, can you describe how to go about this? TIA, it was a great learning opportunity!
My response:
Unfortunately, no. To provide clock hours, PSCSTA (or another organization) would have to approve paperwork BEFOREHAND indicating who was speaking, what was taught, what standards were met, and proof of attendance. Since every one would have a different experience, it's too difficult. What PSCSTA could do for you next year is set up a professional development plan that includes CSTA Conference or other pro-CS ed activities, that we do not provide clock hours for.
