JOB: Computing and Digital Literacies Coordinator position at Brooklyn College School of Ed
Brooklyn College is looking to fill a one-year coordinator position to support education departments to engage in strategic planning around integrating computing and digital literacies into teacher education curriculum.
Line Title(s): Sub HEA Line with a Focus on Equity, Computing, and Digital Literacies at Brooklyn College
The line is funded by the Computing Integrated Teacher Education Initiative (CITE), start date as soon as possible.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting strategic planning to integrate computing and digital literacies meaningfully and equitably across all departments and programs within the School of Education Conducting visioning activities with departments and programs new to the CITE project.
- Supporting scope and sequence development for computing-integrated teacher education curriculum.
- Supporting and documenting implementation of computing-integrated curriculum
- Developing assessments to analyze CITE implementation.
- Collecting data about how students experience CITE implementation.
- Mentoring faculty who are developing and implementing CITE activities in their courses.
- Coordinating professional development of faculty, pre-service and in-service teachers around digital and computational literacies.
- Participating in planning, and eventually submitting requisitions, for the hardware, software, and the development of a new hyflex classroom within the SOE.
- Providing operations and administrative support
- Payment of consultants, conference travel fees, NTA hours etc
- Communication with faculty involved in CITE.
- Planning of meetings related to CITE
- Forging partnerships with K-12 schools to support BC students' fieldwork and student teaching work related to CITE.
Salary range: $62,411-$82,928 depending on experience
Brooklyn College Residency Requirements: Minimum 4 days in person per week. If the individual would like to request to work 4 days in office and 1 day remote, they will need to complete and submit a Remote Work Agreement Form to their Supervisor.
