My name is Janelle Salcedo and I am a researcher with foundry10, an education research organization based in Seattle, WA. We are conducting a study on socioemotional learning (SEL) in computer science to better understand how Computer Science (CS) educators approach SEL.

foundry10, in partnership with Code.org, is conducting a study to better understand the experiences and challenges middle school and high school teachers face when integrating social and emotional learning (SEL) into computer science (CS) instruction (IRB Study #: 2024.020). This study will help shape future support for CS educators.

Interested?

All study participants must currently teach CS to middle or high school students in the United States and reside in the United States. To check your eligibility and indicate your interest in participating in the study, please complete the following online form: https://foundry10.sjc1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_d4oF4W3LhCkxdgG. If selected to participate, you will be asked to provide consent and then invited to join a virtual focus group session lasting approximately 90 minutes. 

foundry10 will conduct focus group interviews with at least 50 eligible educators. All eligible educators who participate will receive a $100 electronic gift card as compensation. If more than 50 participants express interest in participating, foundry10 will randomly select among those who are eligible for focus group participation.
