Hello World CS is launching an exciting free resource for Earth Day! Their new "Sustainable Systems" Interdisciplinary Quest (IQ) offers 1-2 week virtual experiences where students design and program 3D virtual worlds to address environmental challenges.
The IQ includes three age-appropriate modules:
  • Eco-Resilient Explorers (Grades 3-5): Students design climate-adaptive, sustainable homes
  • Food Web Frenzy (Grades 6-8): Students code interactive predator-prey ecosystem simulations
  • Restoration Rangers (Grades 9-12): Students recreate National Parks and model conservation practices
These projects require no prior CS experience, align with both CSTA and NGSS standards, and integrate seamlessly with science curriculum. Each module follows our proven session design with warm-up, explore, create, and wrap-up components. It's completely free and designed to make environmental CS education accessible to all educators, whether they teach CS or other subjects.

Access the free Earth Day projects at helloworldcs.org/earth-day
This is a great resource to share with Science teachers or integrate into your CS curriculum.
