    Pillars of Computer Science Workshops - Series of stand-alone workshops addressing Core Themes of the NJ-SLS CS Standards - workshops will be pivoting to the new standards as they are adopted by the State!

    Whether you're looking to enhance your knowledge in a specific area or wish to explore all facets of computer science, these workshops are tailored to support your professional development.

    All are stand-alone FULL DAY sessions focusing on a different fundamental topic of computer science. You are welcome to join us for any or all of these. Learn more and register separately for each date using the links below:

    Interdisciplinary Hardware Deep Dive with Microbits and integrating AI  -  Friday, February 27, 2026  register here

    The Deep Dive with Micro:Bits workshop is designed for educators ready to go beyond the basics and expand their hardware and coding expertise. Micro:Bits are an incredible tool for introducing students to the world of computing hardware - allowing hands-on exploration, creativity, and real-world problem solving.

    Join us for an engaging, hands-on experience that will guide participants through advanced Micro:Bit projects and showcase an award-winning interdisciplinary lesson on space weather and hardware, as presented internationally at the Association for Computing Machinery's (ACM) Computer Science Education Technical Symposium

    Interdisciplinary Hardware Utilizing Robotics in Interdisciplinary Lessons -  Friday, April 24, 2026  register here
    Discover how robotics can bring creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking to life across disciplines in this hands-on workshop. Participants will explore interactive technologies including Root Robots and Ozobots, engaging directly with these tools through guided activities and challenges. The session will highlight lesson ideas that integrate robotics within STEM-focused contexts as well as connections to literacy, art, and social studies.

    Teachers will gain access to ready-to-use resources, practical classroom strategies, and lesson design templates to support the integration of robotics at various grade levels. The workshop will also include dedicated collaboration and planning time for participants to design or adapt lessons tailored to their own classroom goals. By the end of the session, educators will leave with hands-on experience, a collection of interdisciplinary lesson ideas, and a personalized plan for incorporating robotics to deepen student engagement and learning across subjects.

    Time: 9am-3pm (Lunch is not provided)
