    Submission Deadline - January 26, 2024, 11:59 p.m. PT

The CS Teaching Excellence Awards are designed to recognize outstanding teaching by K–12 computer science teachers. Winners excel in inspiring students to explore the computer science field, engaging students in learning rigorous standards-aligned computer science content, and broadening the participation of underrepresented students in computing. CSTA will select at least three K-5 CS teachers and three 6-8 teachers of the ten national winners. These awards were made possible by a grant from Infosys Foundation USA.

Marginalized students underrepresented in computer science today include Black, Asian, Indigenous or Native, Hispanic or Latinx, Pacific Islanders, girls, students from low socioeconomic backgrounds, English language learners, students who identify as LGBTQ+, and students with disabilities.

    Getting Started/The Submittal Process:

    1. Go to the application website.
    2.  Select "Submit an application."
    3. Create a Cvent account, using a personal email address. (Please note that you must create a new account even if you have applied for an award in the past.)
    4. Follow application prompts and fill out all required information.
    5. You will receive a confirmation message after you submit your application. If you have any questions regarding the process, please reach out to awards@csteachers.org.
    6. Please know there are two parts to this award application. Part One asks for demographic information and five short written responses. Applicants will receive notice if they are selected for Part Two in mid-February.
    7. Part Two will require a teaching artifact and four written responses. All Part Two candidates will receive notice of their application status in May 2024.
