CS Education Research Study Recruitment

  • 1.  CS Education Research Study Recruitment

    Posted 03-20-2024 11:41 AM

We are seeking PK-12 teachers, who have previously participated in any STEM or Computer Science (CS) education professional development (PD) programs to participate in a research study by sharing their perspective and insight about how these programs impact practice. Our study aims to answer the following research question:

What are teachers' perspectives on the formats for how CS research is disseminated in professional development programs and their reflections on the impacts that these methods might have on their practice?

It is our goal to engage in discussion about how PD programs for STEM/CS Education are designed and facilitated in order to better understand what teachers are taking away from this method of research dissemination. We believe that PK-12 teachers' firsthand experiences and insight are crucial in shaping the direction of future program development and ensuring that these PD opportunities are both practical and effective in real-world educational settings.

For PK-12 teachers who are interested in joining this study, we are planning to conduct a 75 minute virtual interview via the Zoom video-conferencing application. All interviewees will be compensated $50 for their time.

If you meet this criteria and would like to participate, please complete our Interview Sign-up Form. We will use this information to follow up with volunteers individually about coordinating the interview. If you do not meet this criteria, but know other PK-12 teachers who may, please feel free to share this information with them.
