Evaluating Computing Innovations Workshop
Mar 09, 2023, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
CSTA Long Island and CSTA Mid-Hudson Valley are organizing a PD focusing on evaluating the development and impact of computing innovations. Specifically, this addresses the AP CS Principles "Passage-Based Questions". We will be deep-diving into the AP Computational Thinking Practices, evaluating hypothetical computing innovation scenarios as a context for students to practice applying them, and collaboratively developing activity prompts to help build our students' skills. The PD will be in 2 parts totaling 3 hours and will be offered as an online collaborative workshop.
AP CSP is a course that many schools adopt, and it is one that very closely parallels the NYS 9-12 CS&DF Learning Standards. This workshop is also aligned with the CSTA Standards for CS Teachers (1f, 4, and 5a) , and the CSTA K-12 Standards for 9-12 (3A &3B).
