The Four Corners Convening steering committee is seeking creative and dynamic presenters to share their expertise with educators for the 2023 Four Corners Convening on July 10th and 11th, 2023 in Durango, Colorado. This will be a two-day event with options for all grade bands and Computer Science area content.
The theme for this convening is centered around bringing Computer Science to Native American students in the four corners region through the lens of their native culture and language, and guiding educators of these students to have the tools and background to successfully bridge these worlds.
Sessions should be relevant to Computer Science education and instruction, and applicable to educators' classroom practices. How will your professional learning session help teachers to encourage and support Native American students to enter a CS pathway or work toward a future CS career? Sessions will be scored against the criteria outlined in the scoring rubric, accessible here. Preference for acceptance will be given to interactive/collaborative sessions that model evidence-based best teaching practices and incorporate Culturally Relevant Instruction.
