Hello all.
My name is Art Lopez and I am located in San Diego, CA. I teach introductory computer science education and teacher education preparation courses at Reach University. I also am a project manager at BootUp PD and for differing projects that included computer science education research at UC San Diego CREATE.
One goal that I have is to familiarize, integrate, and implement the 2026 PK-12 CSTA Standards in the ongoing work that I am participating in. More importantly for myself, I am continually interested in broadening participation of underserved and underrepresented groups of students in computer science and providing equitable access to all children in every educational system that they are found in. I think it is imperative for our children to have open and free access to computer science education courses in grades PK - 16 so that each and every one of them has equal opportunity to learn about computer science all of its subsets so that they can succeed in any endeavor that they choose to pursue.
I am looking forward to learning more about the 2026 PK-12 CSTA Standards. :-)
