2026 CSTA PK12 COMPUTER SCIENCE STANDARDS

My name is Thomas Fuhrman, and I serve as the STEAM and Computer Science Coordinator for Cumberland County Schools in Crossville, Tennessee. I hope to continue to grow our cybersecurity education opportunities in our district and throughout Tennessee this year. I also hope to work with lower elementary educators to more authentically and effectively integrate computational thinking and computer science into their lesson and their classrooms.

Hi Thomas,

It's fascinating to see how your initiatives in Tennessee align with what we're looking at in CSTA Washington.  CSTA Washington started forming a Cybersecurity Special interest group to see which of our members were interested, although we haven't yet met to discuss what we would do.   And making better inroads into the K-5 space has long been something CSTA Washington has wanted to do, and I feel we now have people on our board with enough experience teaching in this area to make a difference.
