Aloha, fellow PSCSTA members,
I am the chapter Treasurer for PSCSTA and also the Advocacy Lead, a new position recently established in many CSTA chapters. I also administer Washington state clock hours for the chapter as sometimes clock hours - especially STEM clock hours - are even better than cash.
I am originally from Hawaii and have lived in the Puget Sound area for almost 28 years. While I am now retired from full-time teaching, I taught high school computer science (CTE) at Ingraham High School, an excellent mid-sized, urban, multi-ethnic high school in north Seattle, for 7 years after a 28-year career in the international computer software industry - the last 18 with Microsoft Corp.
Happy and honored to talk to anyone about advocating for CS education, clock hours for PSCSTA sponsored PD, pathways to becoming a CS teacher, or even chapter finances.

Subject: Introductions thread (Hello from the chapter officers)
Hi everyone!
I'm Elizabeth Bacon, the chapter secretary. I moved here several years ago from Los Angeles, where I was in the SoCal chapter. I'm no longer in the classroom full time, but I used to teach high school computer science, and I got to do drop-ins and teacher support for elementary and middle. Right now I'm Director of Pedagogy for a computing and robotics education organization, so I get to do a bit of everything (even voice the robot in our videos, lol).
Tracy, I'm going to tag you for an intro, unless someone else gets here first. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone!
