What new stuff are you upgrading to/spending money on next year?

I have all of my big hardware situated,  My laptops are 2 years old and I got some VR headsets and a rendering desktop this year. Not really looking for a hardware refresh for at least 4 or 5 years.

The only real new expense for me is getting a bus to take my capstone class on a studio tour, still working out exactly where I want to take them.

Curious to see where people are upgrading to.

My computer lab is getting a long overdue remodel this summer. My computers are being replaced (they're from 2016/17), new tables, but most importantly, new flooring/paint. This means I have to completely empty the room and get everything off of the walls before I leave for summer.

I am hoping for 20 new laptops (Going laptop for the future to allow for more flexibility and eliminate some of the heat my desktops generate), the computers being replaced are 7-8 years old.  All my other hardware is in place and 1-2 years old. I have also recently ordered a splitter so I can mirror my screen to the pods in the room allowing for better viewability and maybe even surround sound for videos, this should be here soon (rubbing hands together in anticipation).

I'm pretty excited.  Currently for my desktop computers, we just have Intel Nucs (Nooks).  I started a game design class this year, thanks to the help from all of. you on this forum, and we saw limitations on what they can do without a GPU.   I brought admins in to showcase the kids' game projects and we discussed this.  They love what the kids have done and are going to upgrade my lab, even thought it's not my turn.  I'm for sure getting 8 new desktops for class and helping our eSports coach.  They'll be Ryzen 7's with 4060s in them.  I can't wait.

    Awesome!

I ran my program off of old math laptops for a while and I upgraded to something way worse than a 4060, even then it was like adding a turbocharger to my capstone students. You will be amazed how much time gets eaten up by rendering/baking/compiling that you will get freed up.

Thanks Brian, you 'got' a bus? Please say more!

I was looking at some rokoko products, but I am changing districts and won't be teaching game design for at least another year.
