Please see the following from the New Jersey CSPD Week Committee which is seeking volunteer presenters for their CSPD Week in August:
"For the third year in a row, the CSTA New Jersey chapter is planning professional development from August 7 - 10, 2023. Monday, August 7 will be in-person at TCNJ (The College of New Jersey) The remaining days are virtual. There will be a variety of workshop offerings for K-12 teachers. We would love for you to submit a proposal!
We are looking for volunteers to demonstrate physical devices in action (think Botleys, Spheros, etc) Monday (8/7) afternoon at our in-person event. Tables will be provided for you to demonstrate the cool devices you have experience with in your classrooms. We plan on having multiple people present the same devices so no one person is stuck at a table all afternoon.
Presenters are also needed to present at our virtual sessions offered Tuesday (8/8), Wednesday (8/9), and Thursday (8/10). Three types of sessions are being offered:
- Workshop (2 hours): Should mostly have participants doing or discussing rather than listening.
- Breakout Session (45 minutes): Should be a mix of presentation and discussion/hands-on activity.
- Mini-session (20 minutes): 15-minute presentation and 5 minutes for discussion/questions (Nifty lesson).
As a thank-you for volunteering, your registration fee will be waived, and you will receive a $25 Amazon gift card.
We look forward to hearing from you and reviewing your proposal.
Regards,
NJ CSPD Week Committee"
