    Good Afternoon CSTA Chapter Leaders,

    This week, the course the Reflective Teachers Workgroup has been working towards implementation is now live.  Please share this professional learning opportunity with your chapter members.  Members can complete this course at their own pay.  The cost is free for current CSTA Members.  

    If you missed me in New Orleans, here's the poster session resources I shared.  There are suggestions on how chapters could engage with members while they are learning about the CSTA Standards for CS Teachers.

    Using The CSTA Standards for CS Teachers To Improve Practice

    Improve your CS teaching practice through a guided reflection process grounded in the CSTA Standards for CS Teachers. Whether you are new to teaching CS or a seasoned veteran, this course is designed to help you plan targeted professional learning opportunities geared to your needs.


    Audience: K-12 CS Teachers and Coaches

    Length: ~8 hours

    Objectives
    1. Build knowledge of the CSTA Standards for CS Teachers.
    2. Build knowledge of CSTA resources available for targeted professional learning.
    3. Use the CSTA Standards for CS Teachers as a guiding framework to reflect on their own practice as a teacher of computer science.
    4. Interact with an AI chatbot for discussion topics.
    5. Complete a written reflection of their own practice through evaluation of their practice for each standard and assessment of how they can use each standard to progress in their CS teaching journey.
    6. Write SMART goals for growth that include plans for how and where to obtain targeted professional learning to improve their teaching practice.
