What type of an event would you suggest if your favorite philanthropist & even organizer said they wanted to host a day-long event for MS/HS students in your area that would celebrate success in CS, engage students in doing some CS, and/or attract new students to CS...?
The Mid-Hudson Valley CSTA Chapter loves our community-focused fall Unplugged CS Fairs and we now want to organize a student-focused event in the spring. We know many chapters that do programming competitions, and we have considered that. We want the event to embody the spirit of broadening participation -- attractive to those with and without CS experience. We want to include CS in as many ways as possible. And, we hope to welcome non-CS students.
Dream big... What suggestions would you have about the event?
