    Greetings Chapter Leaders! 

    In conjunction with CSTA's new Strategic Priorities, we've been talking chapters here during our virtual staff retreat. The following question came up, and I'd love to get your feedback:
    • What are your top (max 4) activities you would want a chapter to offer for all members?

    1. In person meetups with food and drink (regionally, if necessary)
    2. Local, free-to-attend CS conferences
    3. Student-centered CS competitions sponsored by CSTA
    4. Lesson plan and resource sharing opportunities, maybe in the form of meetups or PD sessions

    Just adding:

    1. Offer both in-person and virtual meetups (since we are spread out geographically) for networking and collaboration opportunities. Also, Food and Drinks are great incentives!
    2. Professional Development opportunities (e.g. workshops, webinars, and training sessions) - Free and Discounted
    3. Access to CS instructional resources or programs for teachers/students - Free and Discounted
    4. CS-related Recognition and Award opportunities for teachers/students

    1. At least one in-person meetup a year
    2. Monthly PD sessions-ideally topics sourced from members
    3. Resources for all grade bands that are state standards relevant
    4. Other meetups that are meant to foster a sense of community, not necessarily just PD opportunities

    2.  (1a)  One meeting at a corporate high tech site that include them sharing their CS education perspective - who do they hire and why
    3. "Share sessions" where participants share successful lesson plans or student project assignments
    4. An archive of those with link to the author

    1. AI workshops at different levels. Most AI workshops are introductory and I think we are leaving behind teachers who have embraced it since the beginning.
    2. Opportunities to vent. What teacher does not need to vent? And it would be awesome to create a space for them to feel safe to do so.
    3. Connection with broader community, like tech professionals.
    4. More engagement with students. We always wanted to come up with a way to have all CS honor societies in our region connect with each other.

    I agree with much of what has been posted. 

    1. In-person meetups at least twice a year with food & drink, if possible. In our case, these will definitely need to be regional.
    2. Virtual or hybrid PD opportunities most months of the school year applicable to ALL grade levels. We need to make sure that ALL teachers of CS feel included.
    3. Local recognition/awards for teachers and students.
    4. Discounted chapter swag available for chapter & chapter members to purchase.
