Another great session useful to ANY CS teacher. . . Data Sets! Real Ones!! Here's the write up:
In this session, educators will learn how to use equity-focused datasets to foster inclusive learning environments, improve engagement, and promote social justice in computer science education. Participants will learn how datasets can allow students to engage with real-world problems that resonate with them. The session will look at how to support students in analyzing datasets of personal interest, how to select datasets that center students' experience, and how to lead lessons that explore the inequities in computing and society. Educators will leave with practical strategies to integrate more equitable datasets into their curriculum, helping to broaden CS participation for underrepresented groups.
