We are rounding the corner on the semester.

What are you classes doing for midterms/finals this semester?

My students are working on their 7 week long, main 2D unity project.

They are finishing their first 2-week sprint tomorrow - a bare bones playable prototype

We take the week off for Thanksgiving and when we return, the students will work on their 2nd 3-week sprint. The goal here is the main buildout of the project. Art incorporated, level design flushed out, and game is 80% complete. That is where we leave off at teh semester.

We return from break and spend 2 weeks polishing the game to post online.

The timing isn't perfect, but it gives me more time at the beginning of the year to focus on play and game design without jumping onto computers.

I will do a 2 week game jam with groups of 3 I create based on their role preference... coder, art director, project manager.

My class has been exploring "Play" and "Fun" We are going with a more Analog game for the final and I am trying again to just get them to enjoy the class. We are creating a variant of Hopscotch, outside. Its a 2 hour Final period and I usually find that I am super stressed about getting everything done in the allotted time. Thought this would be more fun and get us away from computers for a bit.

My students are working on a variety of final projects.

Digital Game Design students are working on their prototype for the SkillsUSA.  Students have to make a Steampunk themed Puzzle Platformer.  Some interesting ideas being passed around.

Game Design Principles students are finalizing their Parsely narrative adventure projects and will be presenting them to their peers.
